We invite scholars to submit papers analyzing the role of the Global South in the reconfiguration of contemporary world politics. Contributions should critically examine how state and non-state actors from the Global South navigate geopolitical uncertainties, challenge global power structures, and transform current international hierarchies. The Global South is understood not only as a geographical or economic category, but also as a political and discursive space shaped by histories of colonialism, struggles for self-determination, and ongoing demands for a more just and representative world order.
Suggested themes include the definitions and limits of the category "Global South" in international relations and its multiple geographies; the agency of the Global South in the face of climate change, democratic crises, technology dominance, and new trends in the global political economy; alternative narratives on world order, development, and South-South cooperation; as well as postcolonial and decolonial perspectives on global governance and democratic representation. We also welcome critical reflections on the tensions and diversities within the Global South, including the role of regional powers, emerging economies, social movements, and transnational dynamics.
