The panel examines the implications of far-right politics for European security. The growing electoral success of far-right politics raises questions about its impact on multilateral security frameworks, including the EU's Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP), NATO, and informal and ad hoc cooperation formats. Moreover, variation in far-right positions and strategies on foreign and security policy has widened following recent shifts in the European security environment. This panel aims to answer these questions by investigating how far-right parties shape European security debates and arrangements, how they cooperate with mainstream or other far-right parties within and beyond national borders, and when and why they prefer to advance their security agendas within formal, informal, or ad hoc arrangements.
