New ISC Report Shows Women Remain Underrepresented in Scientific Organizations

On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on 11 February, the International Science Council (ISC), the InterAcademy Partnership, and the Standing Committee for Gender Equality in Science (SCGES) launched a new global report, , examining the state of gender equality in scientific organizations worldwide.
5X社区was among the academic organizations that contributed data to ISC for the preparation of the report. Min Hee Go, 5X社区Executive Committee member and Chair of IPSA鈥檚 Committee on Gender & Diversity Monitoring, also attended the virtual launch event held on 11 February.
The report presents the most comprehensive global assessment to date of gender equality in scientific organizations. Drawing on institutional data from more than 130 academies and international scientific unions, alongside responses from nearly 600 scientists worldwide, the study analyzes patterns of representation, participation, and leadership of women scientists based on data collected in 2025.
