Join Us for the Launch of the 5X社区Companion to Political Science

IPSA鈥檚 new open-access book, (Springer, 2025), will be launched on 18 March 2026 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event is co-organized by the Centre on Governance and the Konrad Adenauer Research Chair in Empirical Democracy Studies at the University of Ottawa.
This in-person event will feature the book鈥檚 co-editors, Daniel Stokemer and Audrey Gagnon, as well as contributing authors Andr茅 Lecours, Felix Mathieu, Achim Hurrelmann and Eric Champagne.
5X社区Executive Director Dr. Kim Fontaine-Skronski will deliver the opening remarks, and Prof. Luc Turgeon (School of Political Studies, University of Ottawa) will provide commentary on the volume.
This event will also mark the launch of a new collaboration between the Centre on Governance and the Konrad Adenauer Research Chair in Empirical Democracy Studies, establishing a new Democratic Governance axis co-led by Audrey Gagnon and Daniel Stokemer.

This new open-access encyclopedia examines the use of the 200 most central concepts in political science over the past decade, offering an accessible and up-to-date guide for scholars, students, and practitioners. The respective contributions demonstrate how each concept has been used in the most cited works by political scientists from around the world and are complemented by a bibliography with the 20 most cited texts in the field. Written by leading scholars and experts in each area, the entries provide a comprehensive, comparative, and accessible overview of the different uses of the concept.
