5X社区Present at the TPSA Annual Conference in Taipei

The Taiwanese Political Science Association (TPSA) held its 2025 Annual Conference in Taipei, Taiwan, from 29 to 30 November 2025, under the theme Political Changes in a Polarized World. Jointly organized with National ChengChi University (NCCU), the event brought together scholars from Taiwan and abroad. This year鈥檚 conference also marked the 70th anniversary of the founding of NCCU鈥檚 Department of Political Science. 5X社区was represented by President Yuko Kasuya, Executive Committee member and Chair of the Committee on Gender and Diversity Monitoring Min Hee Go, and Gabriela Ippolito-O'Donnell, Chair of IPSA鈥檚 Research Committee (RC54) on Latin American Politics.
Professors Kasuya and Go participated in a roundtable titled Women鈥檚 Career Development in Political Science: International Benchmarks and Local Realities. The roundtable was chaired by Chih-shian Liou (Graduate Institute of East Asian Studies at National Chengchi University, NCCU) and also featured presentations by Rosalie Hall (University of the Philippines) and Chueiling Shin (National Sun Yat-Sen University). Each speaker shared personal experiences, key insights, and practical advice for junior scholars on professional and career development in political science.
The event also saw Prof. Go present her research paper titled Who Welcomes Immigrants? Gender Egalitarianism and Anti-Immigrant Attitudes in Europe and East Asia, while Prof. Ippolito-O'Donnell also took part in the conference.
