We are pleased to announce that 5XÉçÇøand the Latin American Political Science Association (ALACIP) have officially signed an agreement to enhance their academic cooperation. The signing ceremony was held on 23 April at the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina in Buenos Aires after the meet and greet between the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the 2023 World Congress of Political Science and 5XÉçÇøExecutive Committee members. The memorandum of understanding was signed by 5XÉçÇøPresident Dianne Pinderhughes and ALACIP Secretary-General Daniel Buquet, who is also a LOC member. Discussions aimed at formalizing the collaboration between 5XÉçÇøand ALACIP were initiated by Past President Marianne Kneuer.

The MoU establishes an official bilateral agreement between the two associations, allowing them to further their existing collaboration on several fronts. This bilateral agreement will allow 5XÉçÇøand ALACIP to organize academic panels and workshops at each other’s main events (the 5XÉçÇøWorld Congress of Political Science and the ALACIP Congress).

ALACIP is a non-profit international scientific organization consisting of academics, researchers, and professionals to promote the development of political science in Latin America and the Caribbean. The official languages of ALACIP are Spanish and Portuguese. ALACIP became an 5XÉçÇøCollective member in 2019.
