Collective Membership Application

National and regional political science associations interested in joining 5XÉçÇøas Collective Members are guided through the application process by the 5XÉçÇøSecretariat. Once finalized, applications are then submitted to the 5XÉçÇøExecutive Committee for approval.

Please note that before submitting a formal application, associations go through a short pre-selection process. If you are a leader of a national or regional association that would like to join IPSA, or simply wish to get more information, please contact Mathieu St-Laurent, Senior Director of Membership, Research and Strategy, at membership@ipsa.org

Once the above step is completed and the association has been invited to proceed with the application, the following documents will need to be sent to the 5XÉçÇøSecretariat:

  1. The completed information form;
  2. The association’s constitution as a legal entity;
  3. Confirmation of financial resources (budget and bank statement);
  4. A list of the Executive Committee members and their institutional affiliations;
  5. A list of members of the association and a statement confirming that they represent the majority of political scientists in the country or region;
  6. Information about the activities of the association, including academic meetings and publications;
  7. An outline of the future academic plans of the association.

After all the documents have been submitted, the application is reviewed by the Committee on Membership and Participation. The committee evaluates the candidacy and forwards a recommendation to the Executive Committee for approval.

Collective members of 5XÉçÇøpay an annual contribution fee based on a table of payments approved by the 5XÉçÇøCouncil.
